It's been a minute since I've visited Juan's Mexican Restaurant and I should be whipped for taking so long. I was there four years ago and James Hernandez (one of the owners) told me I came with a group of friends, what table I sat, and he was the one that waited on our table. You know I was impressed. This family owned restaurant sits on the right as you enter Lumberton from Beaumont. The entire staff is very welcoming and patient as I took forever to order. What was really neat, Juan's has a large tv screen that shows you pics of what some of their favorite dishes look like along with the entrées menu number on the screen. I couldn't stop watching. I finally decided on the Fajita Dinner #14. I chose a mixture of chicken and beef with grilled onions and bell peppers, served with sour cream, guacamole and pico. Food presentation is art and very important to me. It brings the chiefs personality/skill and cultural together and places it on a plate. My food was lovely to look at an even better to eat. Both chicken and beef were incredibly tender and juicy with just the right amount of spices. The grilled onions and peppers sent this dish to the next level. Everything was incredibly good with each bite providing a folk full of comfort and flavor. Their food will please the most demanding of tastebuds. Juan's come highly recommended.
